Client Types
Each client record includes a Client Type field. This field classifies the client based on their current relationship with your business. Selecting the appropriate client type can help you track where they stand in your sales or customer journey.
Available Client Types
-
Lead
A lead is a potential customer who has expressed initial interest in your products or services. For example, they may have requested a quote or asked for more information, but have not yet committed to a purchase. -
Prospect
A prospect is a lead that is more actively engaged. They may be trying your product, seriously evaluating your offering, or are otherwise closer to making a purchasing decision. Prospects have a higher likelihood of becoming customers than leads. -
Customer
A customer is a person or business currently paying for and using your products or services. -
Affiliate
An affiliate is a person or business that does not purchase from you but helps generate leads or is otherwise affiliated with your company. They’re not paying customers but play a role in driving potential business your way. -
Other
The Other category is for clients who do not fit into any of the above types.
Important Note: If you attempt to change the Client Type of an existing customer to Lead or Prospect after invoices have been sent, the system will show a visual warning and prevent the change. This ensures your client classification remains accurate and consistent with their invoicing history. |
Client Type Colors
Each client type is associated with a specific color, making it easy to identify them visually:
- Lead: Orange
- Prospect: Red
- Customer: Colorless (in client list), Green (within the client record)
- Affiliate: Blue
- Other: Gray
These colors appear in the left side of the client list and at the top of each client record, offering a quick visual indicator of the client’s status.
